Fruits and green leaves are essential sources of macro and micronutrients which one must include in their daily diet for young skin and vibrant energy. They also help to cure/prevent various diseases such as Diabetes [type 2] , Hypertension, hyper cholesterol, constipation, acidity, even cancers. While having one meal of whole fruits stay ideal, one can indulge in smoothies made of fruits and green leaves for the on-the-go life. Smoothies can become a great breakfast and healthy snacking option. For best result, use organic ingredients.
  • Children love smoothies: If your child runs away from fruits- try smoothies
  • Green leaves : Green leaves are packed with micronutrients. Smoothies are yummy way to include raw seasonal green leaves in diet. Curry leaves, spinach, amaranth (red and green), wheatgrass, lemon grass are easily available options. Mint, coriander, basil are herbs to be used in small quantity for punch of added flavor. Go creative by adding different seasonal greens on different days. If opting for spinach leaves, ensure it is used not more than twice a week. Spinach leaves contain oxalates and its overuse may conflict with absorption of calcium in our digestive system.
  • Dates and Raisins : Both are wholesome replacement to refined sugar. You can wash and soak dates and raisins for 30 mins to 2 hours before adding to smoothie.
  • Going wholesome: Ensure to use seasonal fruits with peels intact for chickoo, apple, pear, etc for that ensures wholesome dose of essential nutrients.

Simply yours

One Banana (optional: frozen banana), one Chikoo(seasonal), 1/4th tsp cacao nibs / coco powder (optional), ½ bowl curry leaves (or any leaves of your choice), 2-4 soaked Dates, 8-10 soaked Raisins. Add all the ingredients and blend well.  

peanutee chocolate smoothie

Two big bananas,3 dates (deseeded) (add more to adjust preferred sweetness ), 1 tsp unsweetened coccao powder (optional), Bunch of green leaves of your choice (spinach/curry/amaranth),1 -2 tsp pea nut butter,1 chickoo/ half apple (optional / seasonal). Put all these ingredients into a blender and blend all together. A super yummilicious smoothie is ready to slurp!!! Adding fresh coconut milk will enhance its flavor and taste

Cacao shake

1 or 2 ripe banana, 2 tsp sugar free cacao powder/coco power, 1 cup cold coconut milk, 4 soaked dates, 7 to 8 medium sized spinach leaves, 2 to 3 red amaranth leaves ( If seasonal and optional ). Blend all together and Ta da!

Banana Papaya shake

2 bananas, 3/4th cup papaya, 3-4 dates, 2 table spoon raisin, ½ inch cinnamon or 1 cardamom, 1 inch vanilla pod soaked in water for 30 mins (optional), 4-5 cubes of ice (optional). Add all these in a blender and blend.

Banana, pomegranate smoothie

1 banana [Frozen/plain], 1 table spoon pomegranate, 1 dried fig /2 soakd date, 1/4th tsp cacao nibs, 4-6 Basil leaves. Put all these in a blender jar. Add water to get desired consistency

Summer special

Two handfuls of spinach (or any available green leaves), one cup Mango slices, half banana (frozen), 2-4 deseeded dates (If frozen banana is not there- add [optional] few cubes of ice). Add to a blender with little water to get desired consistency.

Indian spice special

Two bananas, Ten curry leaves medium sized, 3 dates soaked for 15-25 mins, Cardamom half pod seeds /  ½ inch cinnamon. Blend all these together.

Sinfully yours

Two Bananas, 8-10 sweet  black grapes (seasonal),  1 deseeded date, 1small bowl red amatanth, Vanilla pods-1 inch to 2 inch [as per individual preference] , pinch of salt. Blend all with desired water( optional : some ice cubes)

Exotic smoothie

Three ripe big bananas, four Black Dates, 1/4th cup white raisins , 6-7 big leaves of celery, water as desired. Blend all these in a blender.
